So I haven’t listened to any of the singles. Uh that opener is sure something. What the fuck. This is… different
feel like Spit is the first Foxing song you could actually describe as sexy. some prime NIN vibes on that thing
"Kentucky McDonald's" might be the only one that doesn't do it for me, but "Looks Like Nothing" is awesome. I finally figured out what a lot of the softer noise shit on this reminds me of, and it's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Like the first half of "Dead Internet" specifically. And then that track gets industrial too, lol.
I do think this album maybe has the least amount of immediate hooks they've ever written, but I also think it's extremely rewarding to go back to and still think it's likely their best album. Maybe neck and neck with Nearer My God, which this kind of feels like an expansion of in some ways.
My preorder definitely isn’t getting here tomorrow based on the tracking. How has this not popped up anywhere in a more easy to listen to manner yet..lol
the end of Barking should come with a jumpscare warning lol. scared the shit outta me and I've had Kentucky McDonalds on my phone for years
damn my preorder hasn't even shipped yet was hoping for a playthrough on vinyl first but I ain't waiting
I remember a patreon post where Conor said he was working on his black metal shriek and I can kinda hear it lol. there's some vicious screams on this thing
yeah Gratitude is transcendent. wild they didn't pick that one as a single not a huge fan of Dead Cat, glad it's short lmao
don't know if everything here works for me right off the bat but it's impressively diverse. kinda feels like NMG without the common thread of all the apocalypse stuff on that album, here they're just doing throwing it all at the wall baby. can see it coming in second place for me with time but NMG is undefeated
That was great. Not all good but enough there that I instantly enjoyed more than DDTM. We’ll see in time if it gets up to NMG or Dealer for me.
