Yeah I lost track of time when they were in Birmingham last, I meant to message him and play the day before/after their show. If they released a Foxing disc as part of a preorder package I would buy it so fast.
Eh, the comparison is a weird one (again vibes alone) and I don't even know if it would apply to a lot of the folks in here lol
I'm warning everyone that this will probably not make sense, but purely based on like, vibes/sound/structure, it reminded me of Sigur Ros' Kveikur at times
Just a dark, occasionally industrial collection of fragments and sounds decorating actual songs, but obviously different from a genre standpoint.
This is such a short rollout but the impatience is real. It’s the only album I can think of - Oso Oso is one of my favorite bands but even when I look forward to Friday I find myself thinking “I wish it was Foxing.” Gonna have to do a discog run today.
They’ve had elements of Sigur Ros in their music for several albums now so that’s not surprising at all. When I met Conor when he went to the same college as me he described deafheaven as black metal Sigur ros (I was wearing a sunbather shirt when we met, I also didn’t know he was in foxing)
It's definitely not a stretch to hear bits of Jonsi in Conor's vocals (and specifically his falsetto)
I feel like I've listened to songs by From Indian Lakes more than a few times and never been into it, is there anything I should check out to change my mind?
