That's so strange to hear because Foxing are always exceptional live. I'll have to see for myself at the Chicago show next week.
They played incredibly, but the sound was weird. Both Michigander and MO sounded great, so idk if they brought their own FOH or what.
manchester has always always sounded outstanding. foxing energy was there but they sounded bad. hope they come back for a cool headliner summer/fall.
I love spending money on flights to get off my tiny little island for gigs that get cancelled after the refund period runs out, twice in two months I think I might be cursed this year
I’ve personally been surprised how many US artists are back here or have announced shows. Whereabouts do you live? Manchester Orchestra are playing London and Manchester soon. Hopefully the bands you want to see (I’m guessing Foxing as you posted in this thread) will drift back over the next few years.
they were! popped over in a small window where there wasn't some bullshit going on that might push them to postpone.
Im not too far from Manchester - The MO dates are rescheduled from previously cancelled shows and are booked in for September - I assumed it was some sort of acoustic gig? (I think it was originally planned as this) Purity Ring cancelled in Jan, Aly and AJ cancelled last month and now Foxing - Starting to think it's a waste of time booking in the first place
As much as I love seeing them live, I’m really glad I chose to see Dua Lipa instead last week based on what I’ve heard. Hopefully they sound better on their headliner!
I hate to hear that about them sounding off live. I've seen them twice, early on when they were touring on The Albatross, then again after Dealer came out, and they sounded fantastic both times. I also hate to hear that Dealer isn't well received overall from the fanbase. That one is such a vibe start to finish. It was also a huge risk for a band gaining a lot of steam to come out with a more subdued offering. I wonder how people would feel about it if it switched places with NMG in the discog.
These guys need a serious headliner. In Oct at Hammerstein and tonight at Starland, they were tight af but seemed to have no energy for anything but the performance.
It’s def different seeing them now compared to the NMG era, they lost some of their live spontaneity. Decent show tonight still, thought Connor sounded great. Not fair being followed by Manchester, who sounded the best I’ve ever seen them.
Yeah, I really hope they schedule a big headlining run for this fall. They deserve it after putting out four straight incredible records.
