I got into the band with Dealer so I’m a little sad to see no love for it on the set list. Have been my favorite moments the other times I’ve seen them live.
tbh I’m pretty sure hearing Rory was why I didn’t check this band out again until NMG, BUT I never really enjoy music in the vein of The Albatross’s overall sound, so it’s not a comment on quality. given the choice though, I’ll always take The Medic over Rory live
I love the live version they do of Medic more than the studio version, Eric does a way cooler guitar part
Show was great last night but I felt like Conor's mic was pretty quiet and Eric's guitar and mic was loud (or maybe just a normal volume in comparison) so I struggled to hear him at times. Also conor's mic cut out a few times including like the climax of Nearer My God which was a bummer. If it had been my first time hearing them play it I would've been upset tbh! Just reinforced they need to do a headliner tour.
I feel like they should have done a headliner first. They already toured with ManOrch so I feel like they aren't gaining that many new fans on this tour. Plus they have a big enough fanbase that is probably holding out for a headlining tour. Also the support they bring out for their headliners is usually great. That Foxing/Ratboys/Kississippi tour was so good.
Yeah I def heard a few people remarking that they like Manchester orchestra but were there for Foxing, myself included. Im starting to be pickier with shows cause the cost adds up and its just increasingly becoming not as worth it if the band I really wanna see is just opening. I'm an old lady if I'm gonna stay up past my bedtime I need them to headline lol
The current tour is essentially just one tour from the one in the fall. At least that’s the way I saw it when it was announced. I’m uncertain times it’s easier to go shorter and less places.
Given the size of some of the rooms on both legs, it's possible that essentially repeating their 2019 support run for MO was the no-doubt best financial choice for them. Here's hoping they've got big plans for the back half of the year.
I really want to give the band more money so I can watch the live Moment House set over and over and over.
Yeah, that set was unreal. It’s what converted my girlfriend from a casual fan to a superfan and convinced her to go with me to see them live. The extended ending of Speak With The Dead was nuts.
I definitely thought the same thing, although Eric sounded fantastic all night. Conor definitely seemed quiet, particularly on the newer songs, which sounded a little "empty" to me. I thought it was the venue but then Manchester Orchestra played and blew the roof off the place :/
Same thing when I saw them in Boston, it was a bummer. I chalked it up to the House of Blues not having the best sound.
Foxing did not sound good in LA. Couldn't make out a guitar until about half way thru the set. Vocals seemed off. Def the worst they've sounded live for me
I just realized the day they are here next week is the same day as Dua Lipa and I think based on the reactions I’m going to try and go to Dua instead. Hopefully things are better on the next tour they do (or as this tour progresses)
Haven’t followed this band for a minute. Looks like they lost a member a couple years ago. Any significant hinderance?
Yeah when I saw them they were amazing but my buddies saw the tour in Berkeley the other day. Kinda the same saying they were outshined by MO
