I yelled fuck Ronald McDonald really loud when they were talking about F*ntano. And no it's not an autocorrect that's what I yelled lol
I would also like to formally and publicly retract any and all slander of Lightning and/or Bialystok that I might have engaged in in this thread because both of those songs absolutely whipped ass live
been doing a discog listen the last few days and decided to put this together on a whim right now not sure how its gonna turn out but i have an idea top 10 foxing songs ranked 1. weave 2. nearer my god 3. lambert 4. cold blooded 5. grand paradise 6. beacons 7. slapstick 8. redwoods 9. the medic 10. eiffel hell yeah look at all those bangers
My top five would probably be NMG, Lambert, Grand Paradise, Night Channels, Weave in that order. Not sure anything from this would crack the top 10 yet but if it did it would be Speak with the Dead, Go Down Together, or maybe At Least We Found the Floor
I haven’t spent any time at all with the first 2 records. I didn’t like Albatross at all after one listen and kind of just assumed they weren’t my thing. Then maybe about a year ago or so I randomly put on NMG for no reason and at all and became obsessed with the album but never went back to the first 2 albums. I might do that this fall but not expecting to love them like I do NMG based on what I’ve read and seen others say, but maybe I’ll find a few songs to add to a favorites list.
the albatross hasnt aged terribly well in my opinion (its still a great raw debut from an emo band in 2013 and sound exactly like what you would expect based on that description) but dealer sounds better every time i listen to it and it was already one of my favorite records of all time.
Favorites for me are The medic The Magdalene Eiffel Night channels Glass coughs Heartbeats Trapped in dillards Won’t drown Go down together Beacons If I believed in love
Dealer is incredible. At this point I can’t see them ever making a record I love as much as that one, but DDTM is second for me no question. It’s wild to think that this is the same band that wrote The Albatross, haha. Trying to imagine what 2013 Trevor would’ve thought about Bialystok
It’s funny, I used to be such a, I guess for lack of a better term or any term, “chronologicalist” when it came to music. If a new album came out by a band that I hadn’t heard before I would go back and listen to their discography before listening to the new one. But as I get older and have less free time I don’t do that, but I wonder would I have been more blown away by NMG had I heard the other records first? And I thought this when @sophos34 made his post about 737 vs GP, I think 737 wins that poll if it comes out before GP. But for me, personally, as great as 737 is, I knew to maybe expect something awesome like that to happen in 737 because of what they did on GP and NMG as a whole. On the other hand, if you don’t hear the discography of a band in order, then maybe things aren’t as appreciated? For example, since Man O is mentioned in this thread, if someone listens to Million Masks first and then checks out the rest of their catalog maybe Million Masks doesn’t surprise as much as it does for those who did listen in “order” as they went because for those who have no history with the artist, anything is possible vs an artist changing their style as they progress. Not saying there’s a “right way” or “wrong way” to listen to music, but younger me would be so upset with myself for listening to albums “out of order” which speaks volumes about the middle class white kid problems I experienced growing up lmao

Any Toronto homies in here able to confirm if Foxing is playing with Man Orch this winter? Seeing them in the promoters posts but the date is not on Foxings website.
