I finally figured out the end of 737 actually gives me big Microwave vibes. Specifically their most recent album.
I was very unsure of this one from the singles I heard... but this album is finally clicking with me. Very good shot of being in my top 10 EOTY list
listening to NMG this morning. Kind of cool that Heartbeats really points towards what they were going to do next. I think if you told most people that before they heard anything off of DDTM they would've been stoked.
gave this a second listen this morning. favorites are if i believed in love, the title track, and cold blooded. lightning is cool and gives me Killers vibes and maybe some slight disco vibes in the verses with the string machine - however the chorus kindof annoys me by the end of it.
Bummed I missed the stream, had a ticket but was at a wedding Friday and didn't get a chance to watch Saturday either :( Love this album though!
Relistened to NMG this weekend (I actually haven't had time to really sit with DDTM - looking forward to doing that this week) and Gameshark hits so hard. It made me want to go to a Foxing show again
Only one dose or only having to test negative 72 hours prior is bad. Venues should be completely vaxxed only or at the most 24 hour negative test.
you're right. but as a missouri resident I cannot begin to tell you how relieving it is that theyre doing SOMETHING
i mean ideally everywhere would require proof of full vaccination (both pfizer/moderna shots or the j&j one shot plus 14 days since) and not accept negative tests. but I've got tickets to like six or seven shows at the pageant or delmar hall this summer/fall that I was starting to feel pretty uncomfortable about so this is at least a step in the right direction. and probably one of the only steps in the right direction we're gonna see in missouri.
Yeah I guess I should say it’s not as good as I hoped, but living in Springfield I’m happy to at least see proof of something to get into somewhere.
I ended up letting the stream be my first listen, because how often do you get that opportunity. Officially making my way through the actual album now, and it's a really fun listen. Definitely a different beast than NMG, but not necessarily better or worse in my mind. Yes, the choruses are pretty simple, but the result is an entire record that is now stuck in my head. Right now my favorite song is the title track.
I really appreciate the lyrical allusions to other songs in 737. It's a small thing, but it just serves to reinforce that this is a cohesive body of work and not a collection of random singles.
