Like others have said, this has grown on me a ton. I think it’s the best record front to back, even though I don’t think it *quite* hits the highs of NMG for me, it’s more consistent all the way through. I put NMG on after listening to this one a couple more times, and while Grand Paradise through the title track is an untouchable run, they seem (Connor mostly I guess) in a much better frame of mind. NMG is angry.
I've been racking my brain all morning trying to figure out what the intro and verse of Where The Lightning Strikes Twice reminds me of. I might be crazy but super similar to Blondie Not in the vocal melody just instrumentation.
I noticed the repetition too, but I love the lyrics so much that I don’t mind hearing them a million times haha
Also the livestream was absolutely gorgeous aesthetically and made this whole album feel even more cinematic. I really hope they actually release it
For reasons that are very dumb I kinda thought I was getting over this band but I’m fully back in now. What a record. 737 will not leave my head.
This album is so good. Never was big into them before but this one may be AOTY contender. This is how I hoped I’d feel after listening to MMOG for the first time.
Can't compare this to NMG yet, that's just not fair. All I know is that I really love this record, definitely very far from disappointed despite sky high expectations, and that I cannot wait for the release show one week from tonight
Where should I start with Manchester orchestra? Saw them open for a show in 2009 but haven't ever followed them or listened in depth
