Eric did an AMA on his Instagram the other day, someone asked if Beaconz was on the new record and he replied 'Beaconz? New record? Don't know what you're talking about'. So I'm taking it as a YES.

Andy Hull from MO confirmed he'd been working on new Foxing. And MO themselves presented a fabulous new song.

Drawing down the moon is a Pagan ritual and I'm willing to think the name of the site is the album title, kind of like MO did when launched the million masks of god site. But Foxing are also teasing some kind of a quest. I'm excited af.

This is my most anticipated release of the year.
I've been waiting for so long.

 

I did some writing workshops with Connor over the summer and he told me that the record is very inspired by paganism, witchcraft, supernatural beings, magic, etc. It’s not a concept album per se but it has those elements as recurring motifs

 

whoa.
so does this mean that the record has a dark vibe? I say 'dark' but I don't mean 'negative'

I wish I knew more but that’s it! I didn’t want to pry too much. The last time I talked to him they had finished workshopping the songs with Andy and were just about to head into the studio.

 

There’s no way this won’t be great but idk about a pagan influenced direction for them lol

 

I mean I think it just shows up as some metaphors and lyrical ideas, not straight up pagan ideology haha.

 

I was thinking like legit sonic ideas, heavily occult vibes and some harmonic chanting and stuff...it’s one of those styles that may delve too far outside of my listening habits. But if the songs are there (which they will be), who cares!

 

Gimme all Pagan/witchcraft Foxing

 

with the info given about paganism, I think there can be some long songs and maybe ambient like ones (five cups), with vocalises and maybe choral performances (bloodhound).

Didn’t Connor grow up in very faithful Catholic house? So it could be the POV with those ideas coming in.
