I feel like the shifts in tone aren't as intense but it's very much another album where they just full send it
LOL @ Brooklyn Vegan getting a /200 exclusive variant. I probably would have chosen that if I'd known its existence. EDIT: Available again as of 9:30 AM EST, if you're insane like me.
Nearer My God was one of my favourite albums of the past decade so I feel like my expectations are probably unfairly high. That being said, the three songs have definitely grown on me quickly, but they all sound so different I can’t really tell them what this album is going to sound like, in the same way I probably could after listening to something like Grand Paradise. Think it’s going to be awesome in context, roll on August.
Go Down Together and Lightning are cool but nothing has really grabbed me like Grand Paradise or Slapstick did. Hopefully there’s something on the album for me.
this record is so insanely ambitious - a lot of indie and pop touchstones throughout while undoubtedly still remaining a Foxing record
my early favorites are 737 Beacons Bialystock and If I Believed in Love Conor's best vocal performance yet
I’ve listened to the new song 3 times now and I think it’s good not great. Go Down Together whips ass though.
I love "Speak With the Dead" but it definitely feels like an outlier next to GDT and WtLST. Does it feel more cohesive in the context of the album?
I think it certainly makes more sense within the wider context of the album but then I heard it for the first time last week.
Glad I got the 180g black, because I do not like any of the others available so far. With so many colors, can't they have just one that matches the album artwork? Hopefully that's one of the ? ones and I can pick that up too.
