Eventually, it wasn't really a true release and was something they wanted to do with their rituals and let the fanbase enjoy it first
assuming thats when album announcement happens. I'm going to guess June release date. needs some space from Manchester.
He also said new rituals won't be happening 'weekly' but they do have their own rhythm. Plus, they added an emoji of a crystal ball on their Insta bio (Twitter remained ignored las time I checked) And it seems they are still promoting the first ritual, like they want more people to participate in that thing. Or it's more of a 'final notice' before the next step... . And also, I realised what I didn't like about some songs on NMG Side B. They feature repetitious refrains. When you expect more lyrics, and he just signs the same line over and over.
Wasn't into that first track. Probably won't listen to it again until the album. Spinning Dealer now though. Masterpiece.
i think you should spin all of NMG if you still havent yet. its really pretty varied stylistically. theres some wearing of influences on the sleeves - I hear Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie) on “Crown Candy”, The National “Lambert”, As Tall As Lions “Heartbeats”, and Barn Newd (regrettably) on the opener. some misses and plenty of great moments, the album does even manage to come together as greater than the sum of its parts. im another that thinks the title track IS revelatory. Dealer is well done too but alot more homogenous - sometimes thats a good thing
Revisiting NMG, I saw them twice in two different states during that tour cycle and it was face melting but the album is hitting even harder now
Sorry for the double post but they sure know how to write a closer, I can’t wait for this album damn, new song is massive too
This reminds me that I had some friends over the other night, and one of them said they only knew of the band through Mike Shinoda remix of GP. I then had to show him the real song, and eventually we went down a youtube rabbit hole. I guess I’ve never seen the video for Slapstick. It was crazy lol. Also I was mad because I couldn’t find SWTD on YouTube even tho the link they provided was through YouTube.
Want to say someone brought up Hopeless earlier in the thread, so wondering if Grand Paradise is an imprint that gets distributed by Hopeless (kinda like The Wonder Years and their imprint)
