This was me. I enjoyed them ever so vaguely because I liked their live presence. Nearer My God changed that.
They've excited me from the beginning, they are the emo equivalent of what the Deftones are for nu-metal
i need to give them a fairer shake. i haven’t loved what i’ve heard so far but the covers they put up on patreon show enough obvious talent where i feel like i should give them more of a chance than i have.
Did you see them live? I’m admittedly a moderate fan of the band. Like the albums and appreciate how great they are, just not something for me. but boy they’re incredible live
I have a few friends who were iffy and then saw them live and that was all they needed. Really is a sight to behold.
Loved Nearer My God...then got in to the first two albums...I saw them open for MO on the METN tour and tbh they were quite disappointing...probably just an off night but no guarantee when you see them live you’ll be blown away
handful of songs across the three albums. i remember people being hyped up big on lich king or whatever it’s called. it was fine. idk
i’ve also seen them live twice. once at fest around the dealer era and it was fun and once on the manorch tour for METN and it was a bit of a snooze.
lich prince is one of the weakest songs on nmg. I could see you digging that album for sure. honestly I'd check out the song Lambert and see if it does anything for you (warning its the closer) - but I can see that song grabbing you
re-listened to lich prince and checked out lambert and eiffel. liked 1/3 (eiffel, which was admittedly really good). idk. i might check out dealer. might just not be for me.
idk why anyone is telling you to listen to anything else but Grand Paradise. nothing hooks you like SHOCK COLLAR AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN for the first time
