anyone know what sort of benefit these bands get from having their own imprints on one of these kind of independent labels?

My first thought would be more control without losing the distribution of a traditional label

more control of what? i dont think they have to worry about artistic licenship at all on a label like hopeless or whoever really at this level.

Maybe control of their masters or something? I know next to nothing about that sort of thing, but isn’t this why certain bands create an independent label but license albums to a bigger label (like is this what manorch with did with loma vista?)

He’s definitely not great, but I tolerate his opinions on new albums I have yet to hear.

Cohen sucks. Dude questioned the legitimacy of Scott Hutchison’s emotions in his lyrics in his review of their last album and then went for the throat of Brian Fallon for no reason in his Get Hurt review. Will never be down with him and he’ll always run me the wrong way with those.

also insinuated in the original publish of the first cloakroom review, before it was edited out in an editor's note, that factory workers in the midwest are simpletons

  23. I only knew about the Hutchison quotes, which would have rubbed me the wrong way even if I (+ family members) hadn’t struggled with mental illness my whole life. Yikes
