I saw them last night and they were as good as always. They’re so energetic and the crowd goes bananas every time.
has anyone heard anything about a new pressing of enemy of the world? since they are doing a full anniversary tour and everything?
I’ve never been a mega fan and the re-recording doesn’t sound bad.. but I’d not replace the original. Think there’s a new song on the end or an old b-side I’ve not heard.
Weird that Cavalier is on there without the indication it’s been re-recorded like the others. It’s definitely already on streaming services so what’s the point
Ah yeah okay, that’s gotta be it then. Probably just making it more widely available. Surprised they didn’t include Listen Do You Smell Something as well
Love cavalier no reason for a re-recording, the budget they had at the time certainly surpasses anything they could come up with now
Self titled sounds good imo, it just didn’t fit this band at all. But Ballou rules and absolutely did a great job doing what he does. Weirdly their best sounding record is probably Brain Pain
It might just be me but re-recording those songs seems pointless given it’s only been a decade and there isn’t much wrong with the originals.
I have yet to listen but maybe they wanted to re-record with the Josh’s parts? Agreed the originals sounded fine.
Either that or it was easier to press vinyl for the new recordings versus trying to get the originals masters back
https://shop.hasslerecords.com/products/four-year-strong-enemy-of-the-world This went up awhile ago. Ships from the UK though.
I was OBSESSED with this record when it came out. The excitement was unbearable. Still love it (and the B-sides) to this day but I feel some charm has been lost in these rerecordings. Probs nostalgia etc. That said I'll still probably preoder. Also the original version of Cavalier is my fave FYS tune of all time.
