the only time i have ever been on a concert stage was covering Certain with my friend's band in a VFW in maybe 2013 in Stroud, Oklahoma (population like, 2k) i'm sure it was dogshit
I also think BABE would make a good EP but I don't like the whole album. Cure, Reactor, Certain, Last American, Exit Summer I think are great An FYS/SYG split of the good songs from both of those albums woulda been cool
opened a thread for the upcoming unpeople album so i don't post randomly in here lmao unpeople - we are unpeople (October 9, 2026) • forum.chorus.fm
SYG is definitely one of the bands I miss the most. I know they do festivals but doubt they ever tour again. I will always regret missing their last headliner with Cartel/Fireworks.
I know it'd never happen but full circle bring back Josh on synths and let's see what a modern FYS sounds like with keys.
I’ve always thought that FYS getting rid of their deadweight is why they stayed around and SYG didn’t. (I don’t think the skinny guy in SYG does anything for the band)
That’s a wild take. The dual vocals were what made SYG different. The synths in FYS were nothing special and I assume cut into how much everyone in the band made. SYG seemed to have a lot of real life stuff happen that lead to them disappearing. I believe Jordan had some serious leg injuries for years and the rest of the band seemed to have a lot opportunities that provided a better long term future than touring full time.
SYG vocalists aren't necessarily "good" singers but they are both very distinct and play off each other in a way that defines the band.
Back in 2007 there wasn’t a lot of pop punk bands with 2 lead vocalists, neither of which played any instruments. It definitely made SYG feel a bit different when they came out and added to their live show.
There’s really only a handful I can think of from that time period where even 1 or both play an instrument. just surrender four year strong
