Right?! We're almost at the end of S3, we better get a fourth now because there's zero chance they're wrapping up that storyline....I need to know more! This has been an awesome season so far, The Mule actor is great and there's so many new storylines so far I'll be extremely upset if there is no next season. But yeah, Day and the inheritance and his whole arc has been awesome so far, it might be my favorite performance of his in all seasons. Best Cleon.
haven't started S3 yet, but the renewal notice prompted me to start it from the beginning to catch up. let's hope the new showrunners don't fuck it up (at least Goyer still has an EP credit)
I'm not familiar with the books so I don't know how much can be gotten out of the franchise, but depending on how S3 ends it may or may not replace S2 as my favorite. While it's a continuation of S2, it's planting lots of seeds that you just know will only pay off LATER, so knowing a S4 (and maybe even more) is coming....S3 is is kicking off stuff I can't wait to see get continued.
i haven't read them either yet (although i own all of them, birthday gifts from a few years ago). i've heard that S3 primarily touches on the end of book 2, Foundation and Empire, and that S4 would mostly cover a good chunk of book 3, Second Foundation. i know Goyer's original plan was 8 seasons, so the other 4 would theoretically cover elements from the other 4 books/other things mentioned in Asimov's book series. but with the state of streaming/Paramount, the change in showrunners, etc., i'm still doubtful they'll go that long. still curious to see how much they adapt (despite apparently steering pretty far from the source material in cases).
Yeah with the current state of steaming, it's anyone's guess really. That's interesting though, that this season is basically the ending of book 2. I assume there's plenty of time skips/jumps in the books as it's scifi and QUITE the story, so I definitely see why this season is planting the seeds of future storylines. There are themes the show has been vague about that is slowly coming to the front as S3 goes on, so seeing that S4 should be based on the beginning of the next book leads me to believe there will be constants throughout the series even if we have jumps. I do wonder how off-putting the differences have been between the books and show. Like I might pick the books up but I would hate to have my view of the show soured because the books end up *that* different.
WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH Lol wow. Show went in almost the complete opposite j was thinking. Seriously WTF. SO glad it's getting a S4.
Finally started season 3 and I'm very glad to be back with this story but I do feel like the mule recast is a huge downgrade so far. Hopefully the rest of the season can change my mind.
S3 was surprisingly solid for something that had so many production issues (in addition to Goyer stepping back). still very skeptical about S4 and beyond (despite Goyer retaining an EP credit and having given the new team his overarching plan for the show), but i'd love to be wrong
