I feel like what was supposed to be a huge reveal in this last episode had been implied since the beginning of the show.

What does it mean in practice though? Like, what are the implications of her being the real ruler? I've read a few articles that touch on it, but not really explaining what it means

  3. I was thinking it could lead to another robot rebellion. I’m sure she’s not really the only robot around despite what Dusk thinks.

Holy fuck that finale absolutely DESTROYED me.

Ok so I've never read the books but I'm thinking I kinda want to now. So for any book readers who are watching the show also, would it be smart to pick up during a certain part in whichever book they're currently in? Or have their been noticeable differences or changes made that would make just starting from the first book better?

I haven't watched the finale yet, but from what I'm aware, the books really only refer to the beginning of the first season, and everything else seen since then has basically been made up, especially the genetic dynasty stuff.

Really?!? Huh, super interesting. Guess I should def read the books as their own thing then.

  7. I've read the main trilogy and just picked up the prequels at a yard sale. The show is more a remix of the ideas and characters in the books with healthy dose of original material than a close adaptation. The other thing about the trilogy is that they're collections of short stories and novellas that were originally published separately. They don't read like an epic novel series, which kind of put me off of them for a long time.

  8. Overall thoughts on the season are a weak front half but the back half was great. Felt like it meandered and dragged a lot those first five or so episodes and then they crammed in so much at the end of the season.

I absolutely love this show. Just watched both seasons over the last couple of weeks and it's one of the most interesting and fun things I've seen in a while. Also it's one of the best looking tv shows ever made, pretty astounding how good this looks. I can't wait for season 3 to see where it goes next.

@Jason Tate links from The Hollywood Reporter seem to be the only ones I've come across that don't revert to the headline text for the link in the post; any way to fix that? Not a big deal if not

Season 2 was fucking amazing, especially the end. The stakes couldn't be higher, I expect a crazy S3.

    Main Plotlines

    1. The Foundation on Terminus:
    • The Foundation has grown into a thriving society blending science and religion, led by Hari Seldon's plan.

    • Salvor Hardin and Gaal Dornick reunite, discovering they are mother and daughter and share a connection to Seldon's psychohistory.

    • A new threat, the mysterious Mentalics—people with psychic powers—emerges. One of them, Tellem Bond, tries to control Gaal and Salvor on the planet Ignis.

    • Salvor is tragically killed by Tellem's forces, but Gaal escapes, setting the stage for a greater struggle involving the Second Foundation.
    2. Hari Seldon’s Legacy:
    • Multiple versions of Hari exist—his consciousness in a digital form, and a physical body revived in a secret Vault. His influence shapes the direction of the Foundation and hints at a greater plan involving the Second Foundation, which he tasks Gaal with founding.
    3. The Galactic Empire:
    • The Cleon dynasty faces instability. Brother Day plans to end genetic cloning to cement his independence, proposing marriage to Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion.

    • Sareth, however, plots to undermine the empire from within after suspecting Day killed her family.

    • Demerzel, the loyal robot aide, is revealed to have her own mysterious motives and manipulates events behind the scenes.

    • A climactic assassination attempt on Day nearly succeeds, and by the end, the Empire’s future is uncertain, with Day weakened and Brother Dawn and Sareth fleeing.
    4. Rise of the Mule (Teased):
    • A powerful future antagonist known as The Mule is teased in visions. Gaal foresees a bleak future in which he dominates the galaxy, prompting her and Hari to plan the creation of the Second Foundation to counter him.
