Foundation (Apple TV+, Sept 24 2021) TV Show

An adaption of Asimov's books, starring Chernobyl's Jared Harris and produced by David Goyer of The Dark Knight fame.

I read the first book last year and I have no idea how it will translate to the screen, but the cast is great and the trailer looks pretty cool.

 

ayer's involvement has me skeptical

 

but its balanced out by lee pace

 

jared harris is exponentially more exciting than lee pace lol

 

not sold but i'll still check it out

 

These books were pretty formative for me growing up. Skeptical but I’ll try it out

 

Anyone checked this out yet? I seen the first 3 eps are up

 

I haven't yet, but I plan to as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

 

Im working for another 3 hours then i'll likely get settled and watch it! It at least looks visually amazing.

 

That it does. And I am quite fond of several of the actors. So I certainly hope its engaging.

 

Will be watching over the weekend. Looking forward to this.

 

Agreed with most of this - decent start so far

 

Episode 1 has me hooked.

 

Seems like the books themselves don't have much of any character development, so the show has to flesh out the characters in their own way. The love story I could do without, but whatever

 

I think I’m going to wait until all the episodes are out. I have too much other stuff to watch.

 

My brother, my mother, and I watched the first episode of this just now on the former's recommendation. Pretty entertaining, and I'm kind of intrigued both by the overall plot and how what's happening syncs up with the opening and ending of the episode. May continue to watch.

I will say also, I was very pleasantly surprised to see the presence of one Dr. Julian Bashir. Even if it was only for that episode, nice to see Siddig still keeping his hand in the game.

 

My family and I are now caught up on this show, and being unfamiliar with the books, we were super confused at the fact that we went from the cliffhanger of Episode 2 to like 30 years or so later and potentially never seeing any of those characters again.

Still intrigued, just a little taken aback.

 

Yeah I didn't understand that difference either; I know they'll bring the girl back at some point for sure, but in what capacity I don't know. With how often time jumps happen in the books, it was always going to be a challenge adapting them to the screen, and I think they've done a decent job so far with it, but yeah something like what happened from 2 to 3 was pretty jarring

 

On episode 4, starting to lose interest in this.
