Try to focus more on killing people than outliving people, if that makes sense. Be aware of the circle, and where the popular spots are outside of it that you can expect people to run in from. I personally try to get inside the circle before it even starts closing, so that you can post up and don’t have to worry about beating the circle AND constantly looking around you. Squads I don’t mind waiting, but solo/duos getting a spot early has helped me a lot. Invest in decent headphones that can pinpoint where stuff is at. I got my turtle beach set from Walmart for $40 last year and it helps me so much. It helps to hear where the sniper shots are coming from, before they go through your skull
On CoD, it just opens up a laptop screen and you pick where it will hit on the map. Little more fair for that game, but I get why they did it this way for Fortnite
Building, positioning, and awareness are what I think to be the three biggest things you can work to get better at the game. Building: this goes a long way in determining life or death in most encounters. You don’t have to be perfect at it, but serviceable is all you need. Wall/ramp combos are the simplest and most effective form of building you can get in firefights. For example let’s say you’re running one direction and a player gets the jump on you from behind. The first you thing you want to do is to immediately turn around and build a wall to block the shots. The player shooting at you will most likely be running at you with no cover. Build a ramp, take your shots on the exposed player. Try out switching between building and weapons as fast and smooth as you can. Positioning: high ground is a huge advantage in the game so try your best to have the high ground, position yourself in areas of flat land, or build ramps to get over the top of others. If you can survive through the first two storm cycles avoid the big towns/hot areas of the map. Unless the storm forces you there these are areas best to avoid later in the game. Awareness: combination of sound, surveying , and analyzing the map. Sound will tell you where the fighting is, where the air drops are, and whether people are above or below you. You always need to be vigilant when you are on the move. Don’t always just look ahead, periodically scan your environment, and find the best suitable position for you. The map will tell you everything you need to know. As the storm shrinks try and place yourself in areas that will provide natural, beneficial positions for yourself. There’s more to it, but i think if you focus on these three basic things you will improve.
Anyone notice the asteroid in the sky? I have a feeling Tilted or something is getting blown up on April fools day lol
That's fucking awesome, saw that post on the subreddit a few days ago. How do people practice building in the game? I try to practice on my own, but it always draws attention and I end up dying. My lack of building ability is the main thing keeping me back at the minute I think, and just can't seem to get better.
I practice while I'm fighting because that seems like the best way to do it. also in the limited matches because those stats don't count.
If you lean more towards assault rifles, lower your sensitivity. It will help stabilize you when aiming down the sights. Since you like shotgun too, maybe try going down to four. I play at 7 I believe, but I prefer being able to whip around real quick. Edit: Stats show that people with a 3 or 4 setting win mid-long range encounters something like 85% of the time
Holy shit, in stark contrast to yesterday in doing great so far today - 2 games, first one 6th place with 2 good kills, 2nd game 1st place with 6 kills!!! Killed the last guy with an egg launcher for the W lmao
What the hell is going on with me today?! Got a squads win along with that solo win earlier, top 10 in all but one game I’ve played today, 5 kills in one building in tilted towers (robbed of another due to lag), kills in all but one game and came 3rd three times! It’s says stats are down atm, so if everything I’ve done today isn’t recorded I’m flying off the fucking handle!!!
I just watched TSM_Myth gets 14 kills soloing in squads. The only reason he lost was some team was camping the storm end zone and wouldn't let him in.
