head to Wailing Woods or Moisty Mire and practice building there while building does give away your position it also gives you a massive advantage in a 1v1. getting the higher ground or building a small shelter to heal up and assess the situation is super vital, not to mention majority of people wont shoot at your structures because it will give away their position and waste their ammo. as an added bonus a lot of people panic when they see someone building, especially the players that dont use the building mechanic at all, so it also adds some mind games to the mix. like @CobraKidJon said above assault rifles and shotguns are the best weapons in terms of 1v1 dueling. the pump shotgun in particular can 1 hit kill if you get a headshot even if they have shields. the automatic rifle and burst rifle are both very good all around weapons. try getting comfortable with those and then branch out to the more specialized weapons. oh also play around with your settings, increase your sensitivity and switch the controls to Combat Pro for a more fluid building layout. id also recommend setting it so that your buildings automatically reset back to the wall whenever you close the build screen that way you can quickly lay down cover if someone gets the jump on you.
Ok ya the one time I tried building in a fire fight I ended up trapping myself in a box then was executed after they shot the walls down. Good to know where to jump off though because I always just chose a random spot to land in.
also you can edit your structures to make doors and windows and stuff if you didn't know that already. You can basically edit anything you build.
After 70 solo games I've got 35 kills, 28 top 25 finishes and 12 top 10 finishes, my best being the 2nd place I got today. It's hard as hell, but I'm getting better. Tactical Submachine Gun my fav weapon i think, seem to do pretty well with it.
My stats for solo are so sad. 715 matches, 340 kills, 235 top 25, 108 top ten, 1 win. I feel like with the amount of hrs I put in I should be a lot better.
Something I've been wondering since I started playing last week: Can other players hear you chop down trees? (I assume yes) Enjoyable game thus far. Several second place finishes and I typically always end up within the top 20 on average. No wins yet. Gotta get better at building in firefights.
I got into a fight vs Myth. Never been outbuilded so hard! • r/FortNiteBR Building battle vs myth asdfwefewfg based myth teaching us the good word
Trying to play now but getting stuck on the "logging in" screen. Is this a known issue? Edit - servers are down. Dammit.
yep they can hear you. they can hear pretty much everything, even when you switch weapons or use a shield potion or something.
I just saw that now lol. That is going to be interesting although I'll probably never get one. I feel like the jump pads are so already so rare you have to get at least 5 kills a game to find one.
Let me know if anyone wants to jam on Xbox. Really want to play with a normal Squad that’s not randoms
Also why is it that when I down someone and someone finishes off the person I get the kill, but if I down someone with a sniper and then they die another way I don’t get “sniper rifle elimination” for a challenge
Wow I followed your tips and landed in misty mire and ended up getting third. Total fluke as the eye of the storm was where I landed in misty. I only needed to kill one person. In the top three I started firing on this guy from the back and he built a structure then shot a rocket launcher at me. Can’t believe I placed that high though.
me and @CoffeeEyes17 got second in one of our squad matches. i forgot who else was there because tbh i was high + tired af. really great match tho also, the new building setup is so nice. it makes defensive building so much easier.
played some games with my co-worker last night and dang I had some frustrating games. I was missing some easy kills.
