Getting good reviews! Friday is bonkers for niche comedies between this and Bojack and American Vandal.
Finally got around to this yesterday and watched it all in one sitting. Armisen is great like he always is but Rudolph really surprised me. I haven't seen her in much, but she never really stood out on SNL but she's fantastic in this. The ending really reminded me of a different show, spoilers just in case: Last Man on Earth with how they're just going out on their own and maybe they'll continue that kind of thing like LMOE did every season? Really enjoyed it and will be coming back to it whenever it returns!
Also, the episode "Andre and Sarah" completely pulled off how something as terrible as cheating spouses can still be looked at as something beautiful. I have a personal aversion to people like that but they were able to convey them in a way that I had a pretty strong emotional response. Very impressive.
This was pretty incredible. I really hope it gets renewed. The final few episodes were also gorgeous visually. Maya kills it and Fred also exceeded my expectations. I’m glad I didn’t binge this all in one sitting, bc it gave me the opportunity to really dwell on the themes and ideas presented each episode, though it’s so easy to watch that I dont blame the bingers. There were several moments throughout I found myself thinking, “wow i really do love this show,” though i hope if there is a second season we havent seen the last of Riverside.
