Ugh man episodes 7 and 8 and onto 9 now in season 1 have been brutal emotionally. Not that you need to be a parent to appreciate the sorrow but as a parent this is giving me whole new nightmare scenarios. I kind of need it to lighten up a bit soon haha
So is that as far as Danny goes? Or is there more? And man what a scene at the end between Ed and Dani.
Also I'm wondering is Ellen's storyline all wrapped up? She is listed as a guest instead of a regular this season so I'm sure she'll pop up at some point.
I could see her having some kind of diplomatic role in the Russia situation. Makes sense for an ex-president.
Man this season especially is making me want to finally finish KSR's Mars Trilogy. In Red Mars there is a whole three way philosophical debate that turns into war about whether Mars should be a place to extract natural resources for Earth for capitalist gain vs being a protected scientific natural reserve like Antarctica vs being a place where a new civilization with new values can thrive. I can tell FAMK is influenced by Mars Trilogy so I can see them veering into similar territory.
Was wondering if there was a good book/book series that covered this type of idea/theme, thanks for the rec!
I rewatched the the first few episodes of this season, and I picked up that Baldwin has been on Mars since the 94 mission last season. He never left and has been there for almost a decade.
This episode is just hitting excellent highs on earth. Wild that the Mars plotline is the one you want to be away from.
I am glad that I thought where it looked like they were going to mutiny on Mars has veered off into workers rights and a strike.
I’m onto season 3. Some surprising RIPs. This show has such an impressive pace. Other shows would spend entire seasons on what this show covers in just a couple episodes, yet it doesn’t feel too rushed.
That’s part of why I love it. If this was on showtime we’d still just be exploring landing on the moon 5 seasons in.
God I love this show. Every week the credits roll and Im like "no, come on! i want more!" I used to no like Margo as a character in earlier seasons, but man her storyline has gotten really good.
Today I learned Ronald D Moore (the showrunner/creator of FAMK) wrote one of my all time favorite Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes. The one that was like a Bad News Bears-esque sports comedy where the crew of DS9 faced off against an all Vulcan crew in a game of Holo-Baseball.
