Been rewatching some old episodes. I think season 3 (1990's race to Mars season) is my favorite. The 1980's war nearly breaking out on the Moon stuff in season 2 is also pretty awesome.
I definitely liked S1/2/3 more than S4 but I’m not sure exactly why, and I’m not even sure which of those 3 I’d consider my favorite
I am gonna make a wild ass prediction for this season. Let's see if it happens. the search for extraterrestrial microbial life is gonna unearth a virus or bacteria that will cause a major pandemic at the end of the season. Leading to a Covid parallel setting up the 2020's in season 6.
It's still wild to me that this season premiered over 2 years after season 4 did. They had been going at such a good pace previously. Hopefully we don't wait as long for the final season.
Wow. That actually made me really emotional, what an incredible sendoff. Genuinely perfect. I think this is a show that really understands its strengths. At this point Ed’s saga on Mars had become the biggest thing preventing them from really progressing the exploration aspect of the show, and now they’re free to move on to the next big adventure. Excited for Titan
Bummer of an ending. Those renditions of the title track fucking got me too. AND THEN THE HALLWAY AND EVERYONE. I had really hoped that he'd make it the entire series too.
Just now realizing that Danielle Poole and Ellen Wilson are the only major OG NASA astronaut characters in this universe that are still alive. I don't think Poole is gonna be in this season as a regular, but I hope she at least pops up as a guest Watching season 1 of this is similar to watching early GoT episodes where you're like "90% of these characters are dead by season 5"
Rewatching season 1 and I forgot how good the "Hi Bob" stuff later in the season with Ed/Gordo/Poole stranded on the moon was.
Finally was able to finish the episode. Not much more to add that hasn’t already been said. What an emotional ending. Excited to see how this season finishes.
That reveal for that new character in the beginning was wild as fuck. knew they'd bring the Stevens family story back somehow
