Way to dodge a bullet.

I might be in the minority though because the Cheddar's here is always packed. But I think it has a lot to do with the way they run the restaurant. My gf likes their drinks so she wanted to go their over the weekend, but when I called they said it was a 2 hour wait. When we went last night they told us 20 minutes (which is how long it actually took) but the entire time we were waiting there were at least 10 empty unbussed tables that no one ever did anything about, meanwhile the waiting area just got more and more packed.

 

they have a Monte Cristo...that's what matters most to me about Cheddar's...the croissant is good...and they also have cheap drinks, so there's some good stuff there. it's not trash like Applebees

 

you'll see every kind of person at Cheddar's

 

I haven't been to Applebee's in probably at least 15 years but I remember liking it

I love Cheddar's but haven't been since they rebranded.

I could bathe in their Honey Butter Croissants

 

I've always wanted to try their Monte Cristo but they use something other than Grape Jelly/Jam so I've refrained. :(

Their Chicken and Waffles is p good though

 

Lately, I've just been rotating Mexican places for lunch

 

Anything actually good? I can't imagine much "Mexican" good too far outside of Texas being very good heh

You'd be surprised. Mexican food is all over the country. Also, Chicago's Topolobampo was just nominated to be the James Beard Foundation's outstanding restaurant of the year.

 

White people from Texas and SoCal always on that "authentic" mexican food brag!

 

I will agree that it's (slightly) better than Applebee's but your post just reminded me that they forgot our damn croissant.

Also, I ordered a combo plate with half Monte Cristo and half Buffalo Chicken wrap. The Monte Cristo was 90% breading. Had like one slice of ham and turkey and a little cheese in it. It was over fried and pretty bad. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap was decent, but it was just a fried chicken strip with coated in buffalo sauce and then a tiny bit of cabbage/slaw mix and two super thick slices of pickle.

Oh I know it's out there I just can't imagine it'd be any good relatively speaking.

To be fair, NOTHING beats Authentic Mexican Food. Including great Tex-Mex

 

It is good. It's not like cheesesteaks or something.

I always just lol at when it's white ppl or non mexican or non mexican American people being the picky judge of good authentic mexican food, espesh cause they're always from Texas or socal. Like being in proximity to a culture doesn't make one part of it or a good judge of it. And brown ppl are everywhere in the country making great food. It's a pet peeve lol!

 

I'll take your word for it, but I've been to two or three different locations and they've all kinda sucked.

 

Well I am both white and Texan hah! But I was kidding about it not being good. Really I just feel bad for people who have never had Authentic Mexican food.

The kind where a Mexican Grandma had been up since 4 AM to start making dinner and takes ALL DAY to make the Tamales, that's when you know it's gonna be good! The one time I went to Mexico and had Taco Cart tacos was life changing.

 

Eggos are better than homemade waffles? Are you mad? I love Eggos but they don't even touch regular waffles.

Sprouts Farmers Market. It's mostly a west coast grocery store but I think they started expanding into the east coast.
