Yeah my dad got a new grill and cooked a turkey, mom made two casseroles, beans, hominy, salad. dessert inbound

 

Got two new cookbooks for Christmas. I'm excited to start cooking new things. The first is the Red Rooster Cookbook, and the 2nd is by Rick Bayless and focuses on margaritas, guacamoles, and snacks.

 

I got a cookbook called "if you can read you can cook" so I can't wait to prove that theory wrong

 

Read that as Skip Bayless and was really confused for a second.

 

It's his brother. He is considered one of the best chefs in the country. Friendly, knowledgeable, talented.... basically the opposite of Skip.

 

My grandma just gets me. I stayed over at her house and this morning she made us breakfast which was just a plate full of french fries lol She tried to make me eat mac n cheese too. I never eat breakfast food for breakfast and it just made me smile that she skipped her normal breakfast (cereal) to eat my junk with me lol

I want a cookbook.

 

this is the only cookbook I'd ever want and I wouldn't actually want it because I'd never use it

 

You know you are a horrible cook when your grandma sends you home with a bag of gnocchis and thinks she needs to explain to you how to cook them.......I know how to boil water Nana!! I'm not that bad!

 

tamales are the best especially since I only get them like twice a year.

 

I've never had gnocchi so I definitely would be clueless what to do with them

 

Just in case anyone was wondering, Sausage Gravy on plain pancakes is amazing.

 

Today I was reminded once again why Pot Roast is proof of good in the world.

 

We didn't really have a great xmas dinner. Thank God I have leftover tamales from last night cause it wasn't filling at all. We pretty much had xmas yesterday so it didn't feel like xmas today. Also I thought deviled eggs were pretty foolproof but I was proven wrong today!!!

 

I ate a whole jar of pickles yesterday
