Looking to try a new bourbon/whiskey tonight. I have been getting Four Roses yellow label. Would rather spend under $30 for 750ml.

I've tried Woodford, Knob Creek, and Bulleit in the last few months.

Any suggestions?

Edit: I'll pair it with steak. And ice. Or just ice. Idk.

I've been sticking to bourbon, but I do enjoy it. Haven't had Canadian whiskey. Tried Macallan 18 at a steakhouse with a friend and it was great. Sweeter is probably better.

When I was drinking mixed drinks, I'd do Evan Williams and Coke Zero, if that helps. Never drank that one straight. If I mix stuff now, it's just with coffee or Bailey's.

 

Still fairly new to the world of hard liquors. I find it hard to branch out because it's a decent investment if I don't like something. :|

 

If you have never had rye, I would try that, jim beam makes a decent one for just above $20. However, it is a different flavor, so you might hate it. I personally love it. It makes the best manhattans and old fashioneds in my book. If you like Canadian whiskey, canadian club is cheap but good--very underpriced. It's hard to go wrong with crown royale, which is sweet and mixes very well.

If you want sweet, Jim Beam and Jack are two of the best options, but I'm sure you've had both. I'd go with Crown. Order rye at a restaurant/bar to make sure you like it first.

I promise it's not. It's a weird sipping rum that is really smooth and has this amazing aroma and aftertaste of bananas and pineapples.
