I stopped paying attention after a bit and just liked everything. I was feeling generous.

I just ate a bad protein bar. Yay being broke.

 

I originally wanted to skip the traditional ham and have crab legs but someone at dinner is allergic to shellfish so I am (reluctantly) going to do a ham, roasted fingerling potatoes, green beans almondine.. but not sure what else. I feel like holiday meals always have lots of dishes. Also need hors d'oeuvres but haven't put much thought into those yet!

 

I just texted Molly about the turkey and she thinks she's funny so she responded with "I think the turkey might be dead. I did everything you said but it's not waking up." Except the preview only showed "I think the turkey might be dead" and I thought she ruined it.

 

You can still skip the ham and make something else! I love ham, but roast beef sounds so much better. or something braised. make some beef bourguignon.

put crab in your deviled eggs if you want some crab.

Beef bourguignon would be way too much effort but roast beef could be a good option.

 

Lol the amount of people at dinner who won't eat anything other than well done meat would ruin this. I'm so glad I've reformed and can eat pink meat now!

It's not that bad. You're searing chuck roast or even short ribs in bacon fat and then braising in red wine with some mushrooms and onions. Then roast some carrots to go with your potatoes and green beans. When cooking for a lot of people, the more you can do ahead of time, the better. Something in the slow cooker or a dutch oven is great. Bourguignon is especially good because you can reduce the braising liquid into a really nice sauce.

 

Then it's cheeseburgers and macaroni time.
