What the hell..I just followed the directions!

 

Was it a boxed mix or was it totally from scratch?

Basically, the bread won't rise if the yeast doesn't do it's bubbly thing when you put it in the water (usually with a bit of sugar or honey to feed it), and salt kills it. So you want to put the yeast in warm (tepid, really) water for about five minutes. If it foams up, you're good. If it doesn't, it's dead. Then you would add the flour, and then salt (not salt then flour) to mix. It should be fine. I usually proof my doughs on top of the stove so they get warm. If your stove gets hot when the oven is on, put it on the counter next to the stove. Should work well that way. :)

Shit. I put yeast, salt, water, flour. I was doomed to fail wasn't I? haha

 

Eh, lesson learned for next time. The bread will still be edible, just not light and fluffy :P

 

I dunno if it's edible..it's kinda hard..Learning experience though. I'm gonna need your to help me next time.
