sweet n sour sauce is unequivocally the best thing ever

 

I was a super fat kid so I would have known if McDonald's served pizza and ours did not. Unless this was before like 96 and I couldn't read

 

it was a sad day when I realized that mcnuggets don't taste like food, selects were good but for some reason they got rid of them

 

bacon egg and cheese biscuit w/ a hashy and black coffee is a great way to start my morning. i hate that there's a MCD's right by my work.

 

I grew up with sausage biscuits but adding the egg & cheese doesn't seem right with me. The McMuffin is the tastier option when all three elements are in play

 

i don't care what mcnuggets are made of they are delicious and the king of nuggets.

their breakfast bagels and burritos were amazing.

mmhm.

 

Chili: The coleslawed Family Recipe™
to warm your soul and other insides this Indian Summer


ingredients

dice and sautée onion

prepare 1 lb beef, dice green pepper (I used about 1/4 of that beast, equal to about 1/2 a regular pepper), and slice 2 jalapeños, add to onions before they start to caramelize

add chili powder (1/8 cup), and brown sugar (1/2 cup) to beef/pepper/onion. cook until beef if cooked through and you consider just throwing it on a bun and eating it as a sloppy joe
(went a little overboard on the chili powder, so I doubled my initial brown sugar measurement and didn't add either later in the recipe like I normally would)

dump those beans in the pot, then add the tomatoes & tomato sauce

after those have mixed together and warmed up a bit, add the meat mixture, and a dash of parsley and basil, along with a handful of mozzarella. simmer for 5-10 minutes until thoroughly heated and the cheese has melted throughout the chili

serve with sharp cheddar (also sour cream, if available), garnish with some Cheeze-its, and enjoy with a nice glass of your favorite fall beverage, I chose a delicious local pub-style ale.

Looks good! Very similar to how I make chili, but I add serrano peppers, a lot of jalapenos, lots of garlic, black beans, a bit of cilantro, and red cayenne pepper flakes.

Yeah it seems to be a Texas thing typically with no beans we love Wolf Brand.

But seriously I'm fine with beans in homemade chili!

I feel less Texan admitting that

 

Also I've never heard of chili being topped with Cheez-Its

 

does not compute.

 

Chili should absolutely have beans

 

I am a little disappointed the Cheez Its were just for garnish, I choose to believe a handful were thrown on top of the bowl before eating

just trying to be fancy. they most definitely made there way on top/into the bowl.

 

Ended up buying enchilada filling stuff from the store when I went grocery shopping. Rotisserie chicken with taco seasoning, topped with red sauce and sharp cheddar. I'd bake it if I had small enough containers, but I just put it in the microwave.

Old El Paso let me down in the sauce department this time. I'll have to get a more flavorful brand next time I do this. However, I made three meals out of ~$4 of ingredients, so I'm happy with that.

bizarrely i was recently craving fast food chicken nuggets and i was like ??? i haven't had these in literally 8 years and they probably taste like fleshy cardboard and i can't even have them now but i want them anyway??
