You guys know way too many cooking shows

 

I have seen a few episodes. I do need to watch some more. A Chef's Table is good too.

 

We would watch marathons of Justin Wilson with my gdad. He was cool.

 

I highly recommend Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It's on YouTube and should still be on Netflix I think.

 

The first season with David Chang is really good. The first half of the second season with Sean Brock is fucking fantastic. That guy is my hero. And season 3 has Ed Lee who is amazing and does awesome half asian half southern cuisine which speaks to me. He also lives in Louisville where most of my family lives. The rest of season three has Magnus Nilsson, a Swedish chef, whose food and restaurant and ideas are beautiful.

Fuck. Thinking about how much I love it has convinced me to watch it again. It's just amazing hearing these great chefs talk about how much they love food, and where they get their inspiration from, and all the amazing things they are doing to preserve food culture.

 

Sometimes I think I have a similar drive like that, but then I think--no, no, don't be stupid. I will have to watch.

I've been meaning to start Fuck, That's Delicious.

 

Sometimes I like Fuck, That's Delicious, sometimes I absolutely hate it. I don't know what it is.

 

I want to open a restaurant so badly but I know it's a pipedream. We should just go all in and open a restaurant together.

Or vlog.

Whichever is easier.

 

I wanted to go to culinary school for the longest.

Now I just eat scrambled eggs and protein bars.

My life has changed drastically. lol

 

I was very close to opening a food truck and then my partner backed out at the last minute. I still want to do it. I have few friends who are head chefs, so I could definitely work with them... But I don't know. It's tough. Every career dream of mine has died really painfully. I feel defeated at this point.

 

All these Tv talk is really making me miss cable. I thought streaming was enough for me, but with the Halloween season over, I could really use November as a month to curl up in front of the Food Network

 

If I had the start up cash I would be all over that. I want to open a place that serves all the southeast Asian street food I grew up with.

I like the name change.

 

I like and appreciate cooking/food shows but never watch them. I watched like half of season 1 of Mind Of A Chef when it was about to expire on Netflix and enjoyed it. Did the same with The Layover, although that one was renewed and I haven't continued watching it since.

I think part of the reason I don't watch more is because I have limited experience with food and so much of the time I don't know what they're talking about

 

Food shows just make me hungry or frustrated that I can barely microwave nachos

 

I watch chopped and throw down multiple times a week, it's just my default that if I see one of those are on, that's the channel I pick. Although by now I've seen nearly every episode, but still.

 

Brian Regan has an amazing bit about why he dislikes cooking shows and I wish I could find it
