Mostly what is holding me back is a thermometer and a good cast iron skillet. I could probably do it in a shitty pan but I'm worried about the logistics of that.

 

I never used to call them that. I thought it sounded weird, but I've been worn down over time. It's a fun name.

 

Anything with a really heavy bottom should work for you.

 

What else would they call them?
Munchkins are specific to Dunkin Donuts

 

I like to marinate the chicken in honey for a couple hours before I deep fry it. It comes out so damn good.

 

sounds awesome. I want to make fried chicken now so badly. I imagine some buttermilk and cayenne would be a nice addition to that honey.

 

Here Dunkin' Donuts is so ubiquitous that they've just adopted that term.

The recipe I have brines the chicken in the pickling liquid for jalapenos.

oooo, I've added cayenne before and it was awesome, but I've never done it with buttermilk. I'm going to have to get on that.

 

Now I'm seriously considering finally getting a kitchen thermometer and making this a weekend project.

Which is funny because I moved from a place that had maybe 3 in the entire state.

I only learned of the name "donut holes" in the past few months, and I only understood what it meant and learned to appreciate it more in the last few weeks.

They've always been Timbits to me.

 

I don't know if I've ever been to Dunkin Donuts. They're not common here, we mostly have nameless donut places

What I hate about making specific recipes is I blow my whole week's grocery budget to make one or two awesome meals and then have nothing left to eat for the rest of the week.

That's exactly what I do. I buy frozen dinners, lunch meat, cereal, and canned soup and then gorge on the expensive stuff.

 

It seems totally worth it to eat ramen noodles the rest of the week if I can make one of those fried chicken sandwiches that looks even half as good as the picture.

 

Just bought $180 in food and paper shit. I'm too sad to eat any of it right now.

I almost cried when I found a 24 hour Dunkin Donuts here recently.

 

I buy a half-dozen at Dunkin any time I have the opportunity
