    There's an video I think he did with GQ where he talks about his outfit and he talks about his boots and they definately were the same boots I saw him in and they do give him a solid inch and some change.

    I had no idea those were a thing!

    the pie is in the oven right now and I think I lost my mind about 10 times while preparing it. Right now I want to scream and cry at the same time lol

    i'm not a huge pie fan, but I love making them. decided a couple years ago i wanted to be a pie person so whenever i am able to i like to bring a pie to someone's house if they invite us over

    My best advice is leave em on longer than you’d think they need. I started with 4 hour smokes and they always turn out better if i leave for closer to 5 now

    To clarify, my charcoal smoker holds temp usually between 225 and 240, which might be lower than your grill.

    ended up right around 5 hours, turned out pretty dang good, if not a little dry. no smoke ring like last time, but I also had two racks instead of one.

    forgot to take a good final pic cause of the commotion of a neighbor lending us chairs and a table as everything was finishing, but here’s the end product of the ribs, and the wings mid-grilling.

    Made a cheesecake for my pops. I was a little nervous baking this for the first time in this new oven and it looked done 10 minutes earlier than usual. It was perfect until I touched the top and a little bit flaked off :sly: 20200621_124407.jpg

    I’ve realized that since I don’t go to restaurants or order food anymore my whole diet consist of ingredients and dishes from the area that roughly starts at the Alps and then from there goes around the Mediterranean and I’m not mad about it

    Looks like the meals for the next few days are hot dogs & beans, turkey sandwiches, fish tacos, chicken thighs in some type of rice - not sure which style I’m gonna go yet, and I might try making a light version of chicken and pea Alfredo using oat milk. And gonna make some beer bread!

    ooh and I just remembered I have hot Italian sausages in the freezer. May make some subs or a pasta

    Edit: oh yeah and I have everything needed for a chicken pot pie. I’ve never made a full pie size of that but I might try!

    This was a great read!

    One thing from my time in the industry which I still feel guilt about is the way that we judge tables based on appearance. There's some unfortunate casual racist ideology that goes along with being a server. When your livelihood is based on tips and there is the perception that certain races are worse at tipping it creates unconscious bias. I'm not sure how to adequately address this but I know the problem is rampant.
