I was unemployed summer 2018 (quit a job I was miserable at and was a little too confident about job prospects, lesson learned). During that time a large number of meals consisted of canned salmon/tuna with hot sauce and tortilla chips or spaghetti. I don’t miss it.

This is pretty much what I do now, minus the tortilla. I mix/brown all the good stuff in a pan and then cranberry on the side. Looks like something a cat threw up, but damm so good.

 

I get paid Friday and I’ve been craving sushi....I’m so thankful for Asian takeout places that do online ordering/payment

I don't even like seafood outside of canned tuna and that looks delicious.

 

I'm buying a new dutch oven and I'm torn between 5.5 qts and 7.25 qts. Any suggestions? My lodge dutch oven didn't hold up and I forgot to check the size before I got rid of it. I think the 5.5 qt dutch oven might be my best option.

 

Do they have a 6.375 qts model?

 

I have a 5.5qt Le Creuset and am very happy with it. Unless you plan on making very large batches or cooking for a lot of people I think it's the perfect size

 

Same here. It’s very rare for me to wish I had the bigger one, and only for specific dishes for a crowd. In general I love the smaller size.

 

I cook for 2, sometimes 4, 99% of the time. A few times a year I might cook for 8 or 10, but I think you're right. I should just get the 5.5qt. Even when I cook for a group of 8, I tend to use my grill or cook more, smaller courses.

 

I can’t wait until my girlfriend and I move and we can start to invest in a set of really good pans. I cobbled together what I have after I broke up with my ex and it’s annoyingly inadequate to what I want.

 

I had no idea what the benefits of having a dutch oven were. Just Googled it and now I need one.

 

I’ve got a mishmash of stuff from my last few places, I can’t wait to get a good set of pans and knives.

 

I have so many things picked out at Williams Sonoma that I can't begin to afford, haha. It's absurd. Pots & pans set, dinnerware, cookware, silverware.

Copper would be great, but I really have my eyes on the All-Clad D3 line.

5.5 quarts? Nice! I'm really excited to get it. I've owned two Lodge dutch ovens over the years, and despite taking proper precautions, the inside slowly deteriorated on both of them.
