    Eat Pizza

I made pasta for the first time the other week! it wasn't nearly as intensive as I’ve always imagined, I’m sure having a Kitchenaid helped. also made a simple meat & tomato sauce and carbonara. the meat sauce was bomb, but the carbonara got a little scrambled.
my roommate’s aunt (whose house we made it at, they insist on him still coming over for meals once a week through all this) wants me to come make it on a regular basis.

The more you do it, the easier it gets. That all sounds amazing! A kitchenaid really does make it so much easier.

Made some hammer cookies for my dad for his birthday this week. It's the most "dad" cookie cutter I have:crylaugh:

Had the best lamb and beef of my life last night. We did a very small fam dinner last night for my stepmoms's tradition of orthodox easter and my dad's birthday. On a normal easter, usually the lamb at her aunt's house is overcooked and tough, but my dad made it this year and it was just heavenly. I'm so glad I tried it. My dad loved the cookies (wish I could've hugged him though):tear:
And damn, none of my aunt's tsoureki either:tear:

    Got a light?

Made a charred scallion dip for chips today. As I pulled the scallions out of the oven, the olive oil caught fire and there was a full on flame that I was lucky enough to put out. The dip is amazing though, to quote Homer Simpson “fire made it good.”

Damn I had like 20 tabs saved from links and recommendations you guys posted and chrome crashed, my phone died, and I lost them without the option to back up :(

I mean it’s all still in my history but dang haha

Fiancé wasn’t in the mood for it so we scrapped the idea.. ended up having grilled ham and cheese sandwiches instead

Also i looked at the bag of onions today and they all went bad. That’s what i get for buying a Costco pack of onions

maybe i'm being ignorant, but isn't it essentially whatever your typical breadmaking recipe is, but substituting rye flour?

Recipes I was coming across were calling for dill pickle juice in the wet ingredients and whatnot

    100%

grapefruit vinaigrette, really simple. Serve it with diced avocado, grapefruit, and thinly sliced red chiles. Add some arugula or microgreens if you like.

Okay this is my first time fucking with De Cecco pasta cause a couple of y’all mentioned it was your go-to and HOLY FUCK it’s so much better than any other dry pasta I’ve had.

De cecco or bust. Their egg pasta is unreal.

damn, that sounds much better than what I did. ended up just doing a simple arugula salad with a champagne vinaigrette and grated romano cheese, and a 90sec bag of chicken rice haha. next time now I know!
I'm jealous you were able to get some. all my grocery stores have been completely sold out of anything de cecco, and most of the good types of pasta of other brands
