I'm pretty sure I could eat one of those loaves by myself right now!
I want to learn sourdough too but it's so intimidating. I tried a while ago and it did not turn out well. I did make the Lahey no-knead bread a few weeks ago and that was really good and easy

 

Yeah, this was no knead as well. It was super easy, the only potentially tricky part was needing to have a baking stone on hand and adding hot water to a pan for steam.

I feel the same way about sourdough. Normally I don’t worry too much about bakes not turning out well, but I can’t risk losing any ingredients at the moment so it might have to wait.

my starter has been fairly active the last few days and is at a decent volume now so i think im gonna try my first sourdough loaf this weekend

I’ve got air fryer fries down perfect on the second try. Really I think they’re the best fries I’ve ever had. Had them with grated parmesan and blue cheese dip.

what was your method??

 

I'm braving the grocery store tonight and I'm planning on making the most of it. I've laid out meals for the following week, which I am very excited to prepare. Hopefully, I can find all of the necessary ingredients:

(tonight is frozen pizza, don't @ me)

1. Steaks + creamed spinach + fried (thin) onion rings
2. Carnitas tacos w/ scratch guacamole
3. General Tso's chicken
4. Black bean enchiladas (meatless Monday shout-out)
5. Garlic shrimp scampi

I'm very excited to do this much cooking, but terrified of the grocery bill and going to the store.

 

I think I'm making carnitas tacos on Saturday too!

I feel like I've spent so much money on groceries these last couple weeks trying to get enough food to last for a while, but I've still had to go at least once a week and keep forgetting things to make the meals I want to

 

I'm making my list in a spreadsheet so I don't miss anything lol

what are you serving with your tacos?

 

keepin them simple with just onion, cilantro, and a type of green salsa. i also couldn't find queso fresco so am using goat cheese instead

I got some sheepshead, flounder, and triggerfish...I should make some tacos outta that.

I've only had sheepshead once and it was great and I've only had triggerfish once and it was great, flounder I've had all the time. Excited for the triggerfish since I caught it so this time it'll be hella fresh

 

I've never had any of those (outside of flounder)! Googling them now, haha.

 

didn't realize sheepshead was a fish at first, and wtf they have human teeth?!?!

 

Yeah dude they're wild. Their scales/outside is pretty much armor, haha. They are super tough to clean and filet but well worth it. Triggerfish have some weird human esque teeth and lips as well
