I moved away a year ago and I wish I could have stayed longer

 

charleston was such a rad city to live in for food. charlotte is catching up to it, too

 

Charleston is one of my top cities I want to visit that I haven’t been to yet. Hopefully some time soon I’ll get there

 

I found Alison Roman’s cookbook at Marshall’s for $4 and wow I am excited to cook some of her recipes

 

Tonight’s dinner: sesame tofu

 

man chinese food is the only argument u need against ppl who think tofu is bad. i love spicy food so szechuans my favorite but u cant go wrong w sesame tsos or homestyle.

thatlooks like its got the right amount of crispy texture too. if u cooked then that then nice job.

that would explain it. whenever ive cooked tofu iirc i tried using corn starch w mixed results. i think ill try rice flour next time ha

 

If we can swing it, that’s where we’re headed on a trip later this year. I’m super excited.

 

I’ve had Ethiopian food once a week for the past month. been addicted ever since I discovered this place basically around the corner from me.

 

There’s apparently a great Ethiopian place in town here and I haven’t been. I’ll admit to being very ignorant of the cuisine, what have you had that you liked?

 

had incredible ethiopian my first night in london. kinda craving it again

 

this is the only spot I’ve been to to be honest and it’s all still new to me. I’ve just been doing these ‘feast’ style meals for two and having everything. no utensils, just injera. so much flavor! not sure how you’re place would be set up but this is the menu. I’ve also been for brunch and it’s slightly different, more single person dishes. it’s literally all good, except for beets but that’s a me thing.

 

Ethiopian is very good

Beets are incredible.

 

I once confused beets and cranberries at Thanksgiving when I was a kid. Beets have never been the same.

I can confidently say that they are the only food I've ever tried that I haven't liked.
