I like eating candied fruit and Pringles. And that's it.

 

I might or might not just have ordered a frighteningly small amount of chocolate for 27€ from a small-ish chocolate factory from the area of Switzerland I used to live in. It's without doubt the best chocolate Switzerland has to offer though.

We have a big, Big Mac-ish McDonald's burger here with bacon, it's called Big Tasty. Don't know if you have it.

 

I stopped at a McDonalds late night last weekend.

Ordered a double cheeseburger with big mac sauce.
Got home and found a double cheeseburger with bacon.
Cool.
Except the bacon was crunchy and clearly made at like noon that day.
Not cool.

Is reducing Alp and Swiss cuisine to Swiss cheese fondue one of the dumber things one can do and completely ignorant of the incredible culinary diversity the region has to offer? Yes. Do I love it regardless? Yes. But only if it's made with the right ingredients, the right away. Otherwise I consider it a hate crime.

Seems like the wrong thing to do. Plus they put the big mac sauce on that bun and cheese melts to it etc. Needs to be made without it.

It is. My mom made it, haha. The concept sounds simple but it requires technique. It's like many sauces in that regard.

 

My mom actually gifted me an electronic fondue rechaud but at the same time she keeps telling me that only the ones with a flame are legit lmao that immigrant mom life

 

Looking at restaurants in NYC has my head spinning. There's too many good choices.

 

Has anyone ever had or made Japanese cotton cheesecake? I have a customer asking that we try to make it but I’ve never had one to compare it to. I’m also concerned it won’t go through a freeze/thaw cycle well.

 

It's super overwhelming. Usually when I go to NYC its for a night or two. I always end up checking out a couple new places and also going back to one or two that I know I love. I'd love to take a week there just to try out a bunch of new places.

 

where are you looking?

 

Midtown, close to the Algonquin, Times Square, and the theater district. I've got a list of like 150 restaurants I'm slowly evaluating haha. And I do mean slowly. I'm definitely making a point to try a Michelin star restaurant, as I've never been. Then I'm looking for a spot for brunch and then a place for dinner before the theater.
