Like today is gonna be that episode of Friends where Monica has to make like 4 different type of potatoes to appease everyone lol. We'll see. My sis is a fantastic cook so I'm not worried, but I anticipate being annoyed by my stepsiblings for whining about it being different. We have things cooked their way for holidays literally every single year because either their mom or grandparents cook. They can deal with it for once!!

Vegan thanksgiving actually ended up being pretty damn good!

This marshmallow casserole thing is new to me

Yep. My sister got them at Trader Joe’s

 

Another reason why trader Joe's is amazing and my life is lesser for not having one nearby

 

marshmallowed yams, homie!

 

all I need on my plate is ham, dinner rolls and mashed potatoes and that is a good dinner.

 

I ate:

Mac n cheese
Broccoli cass
Green bean cass
Corn cass
Stuffin
Biscuits w butter and jam
I think that's it

I brought home:
More mac
Mashed taters
Apple pie
lil mini pizzas

I made turkey, hassleback potato gratin, Brussels sprouts, and corn bread. My mother in law made stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Then for dessert we had blueberry pie, pecan pie, apple pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, brownies and sugar cookies. For only 9 people

 

it's scary that marshmallows aren't inherently vegan, the scariest not inherently vegan thing for me was gummy bears

 

Lol yeah, I literally just learned this today. I was like wtf

 

I ate

Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Cranberry sauce
Deviled eggs
Rolls
Broccoli salad
Green bean casserole
Fruit salad
Huckleberry cheesecake


I have my mom's Thanksgiving on Saturday and am pumped cause that one will have yams

 

I used to not eat marshmallows and gummy candy but I'mma be honest... I caved pretty early on lol. But I would much rather eat vegan marshmallows so I'm gonna look out for those

a giant turkey breast (we never eat the dark meat, we're savages)
mashed potatoes
gravy
corn
noodles
deviled eggs
ham rolls
pumpkin pie

I ate:

pumpkin pie
a noodle

I think this is probably the best holiday dinner I've made thus far. The turkey was moist and delicious, the sides were probably the best I've ever made. I combined my recipe for deviled eggs with my dad's preferences and it turned out perfect.

I'm really happy with what turned out today.

 

second plate was purely mashed potatoes, ham and rolls.

my first plate had those plus stuffing, corn and turkey. I had to pay respect to the host for making those.

My second plate was all my goodness.

 

Tonight we made burgers stuffed with pepper jack cheese, topped with bacon, grilled onions, and macaroni & cheese. The macaroni was mixed with sweet and spicy jalapeños from Trader Joe’s and ghost pepper flakes. It was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had that I didn’t get at a restaurant.
