My grandpa used to make chicken salad and tuna salad all the time. His rule was basically to throw whatever he had in the cupboards/fridge into it. So it was common to have different fruits, veggies, nuts. It was wonderful. RIP.

 

Grapes, apples, or dried cranberries do not belong in a mayo-based food.

My standard egg/tuna/chicken salads are all based on the same thing. Mayo, mustard, celery salt, egg, additional meat of choice.
