I really love that pepper dusting they hit it with, plus cole slaw and pickles just compliment fried chicken so wel. I've had it like five times and every single time it's just as good.

 

Haha okay then that is a little cruel.

It is one of the better spicy chicken sandwiches out there. The chicken is super good itself. I'm just not wild about the slaw. I love the buttermilk herbo mayo on the original and how crispy that chicken is.

 

Yeah the unparalleled crispness on both of them is what really elevates them above pretty much every other fried chicken sandwich I've had ever. They're both top-tier for sure.

That sandwich is dope but nowhere near the best.

 

Absolutely, not many places have crispiness approaching that level, much less on a sandwich. I'm a sucker for any sort of fried chicken though. Unless it's KFC.

I think I'm biased because I was born in Nashville. So when I visit family I can get the actual thing the Shake Shack version is based on.

 

Yeah the food is like the #1 reason I want to visit Nashville haha. Between hot chicken and BBQ, it's a food tourism dream destination.

 

Chattanooga has some delish food. I can't wait to go back.

Damn you and your fried chicken and bourbon relations. Here I thought beavers primarily lived in Canada and colder parts of the US... not Nashville.

 

My family was trapped and transplanted to Tennessee. We escaped and I become a well-traveled beaver. Family in Nashville, family in Louisville, family in Indonesia grew up in Southeast Asia, live on the East Coast.

I had some bangin pizza last night for dinner from a spot down the street. Some of the best I've ever had, consistently. Gonna miss that place when I move in two weeks.
