I always feel guilty making minor substitutions

I feel like minor subs should be okay. but if you're changing a dish to be something completely different, you're crossing the line.

A request or two is always fine. I think the rule is: the nicer the restaurant, the more elaborate the request can get.

I had a table once where this lady asked me the ingredients of the flavor pump sugar syrup you put in lemonade or tea. She treated me like I was supposed to know that when I had no clue. She changed her entire burger order to some ridiculous shit. I took bomb care of her and the 7 others with her and she wouldn't let anyone tip me like she yelled it outloud not caring that I could hear her. One of the other people with her found me in the back and gave me 100 smackeroos and said I did a fantastic job. Fuck people like that but my pocket thanks you.

I made so much money waitressing it's embarrassing that I didn't save any of it.

I hate asking for subs, espesh when the person I'm with asks for one too and then I'm convinced they think we're annoying. I do have a friend i hate going to the drive thru with because she takes forever. So long that they're always like ".... is there anything I can help you find?" If I'm gonna take longer than like 5 seconds I always tell them to hold on just a sec. But she just silently sits there forever and it feels like it takes a year.

My stepmom is the absolute worst to go out to eat with. She finds something to complain about every single time. She made them take her pasta back bc a couple noodles were stuck together and then got pissed when they charged her for her meal bc apparently she thought she should get it for free. She complained about her blackened chicken being burnt and when the waitress was asking her to show her what was burnt, it clearly wasn't burnt at all. I hate going out to eat with her bc it is so embarrassing (and I don't like her but that's another story lol).

The worst for me is dining with my parents because they're so picky about where they sit. Everything has to be just right for them. It's incredibly awkward moving from one table to the next or just standing around while they try to get a table they like. I can understand in some very limited situations, but they want to pick their table like it's a piece of meat at a butcher shop.

I'm usually overly concerned about the tipping. When I eat with my grandpa I have to remember to bring extra cash to put down. The other night some friends and I were at the bar and someone told us to put our money away and I was like "but we still have to tip" and the bartender was like no you don't? But I DO

Everyone I know leaves good tips. Only time we disagree is if we have bad service. My friends seem to think you shouldn't leave a tip if the service is very bad. I still tip, just a bit lower than what I normally would have. or they think you should just leave a dollar or something but I can't do that.

I pretty much tip 25% no matter what. 15-20% if it's very very very bad.

I've only left no tip maybe twice in my life. But, believe me, it was deserved. I tip 20% normally, more if I really enjoyed the service.

I've never had any truly awful waiters before (people who were with me would disagree lol). I had one guy who was bad and he knew he was bad bc he ripped the survey part off the bottom of the receipt :crylaugh:I still left a tip (my friend didn't) bc I'm a chump. I just said maybe he was having a bad day.

it was all a dream Prestigious

tippin in seattle is super confusing sometimes, considering the 15 min. wage. Some restaurant add an automatic 20% service charge to cover tip, or pay their workers a livable wage so they discard the tip line all together

my girlfriend loves mac & cheese, but lots of places like to throw in lobster or mushrooms, which she does't do. some restaurants can't take them out because it's already pre-made, others make it from scratch so they're more open to substitutions. I always tell her it doesn't hurt to ask.

At the expense of our Indian restaurant tho. Thankfully they're just moving to another town tho not going out of business

It drives me absolutely insane that we have 2 local Italian restaurants that are great (the one is my fave restaurant I love it so much) but my grandma always insists we go to Olive Garden!! She says their sauce is better and she's Italian!!! She should know better!!
