Last night I had red bean paste buns and they were so good. Also if it were up to me I'd eat every pastry in sight. Why are they so good but like not nutritious I'm the least?? Why couldn't I have been born a savory over sweet person smh
I’m a sucker for pizza, and we ended up getting it twice this past weekend. summer chanterelle mushrooms w/ shaved onions, spinach, gremolata & etxagarai. Bánh Mì Pizza. Lemongrass bbq pork, mozzarella, pickled daikon radish and carrots, cilantro, cucumber sauce, sriracha aioli, jalapeños. Kaprao Pizza. House Thai Kaprao sausage, basil cream sauce, mozzarella, fried shallots, Thai fish sauce, fried basil pesto, holy basil.
I love using those cans and mixing them with sour cream to make a taco sauce. Never thought to use it on spaghetti. I'm intrigued though and will be trying!
I just signed up for Purple Carrot and get my first box in a couple weeks. I love cooking and sometimes even enjoy the task of deciding what to make for dinner during a given week, but it sounds nice to be able to go back to eating mostly vegan without having to put any thought into it. It’s definitely pricier than picking ingredients up at the grocery store, but if I can manage to get two dinners out of each meal, it really isn’t that bad and presumably I’ll be able to do a grocery run every other week for as long I decide to keep the subscription going (it’s entirely possible I’ll stop after the first or second week). Any of you have experience with this? In other news, I made the NYT’s gochujang eggplant last night. That’s a recipe I really enjoy - it’s easy and very good, and when I manage to nail the fried scallions (25% success rate lol), it’s even better.
Haven't heard of that one - I'll have to check it out. Cooking whole food meals for my boss has been interesting over the last two months. Fork Over Knife is a site I've gone to time and again for some really good recipes for those looking for healthier options. Even thrown some of them into my home life dinners to my kids (unknown) delight.
Didn’t do purple carrot but I’ve done hello fresh and it’s nice if you can get the discounts. I always got 2 meals out of each dinner. It’s nice to have exactly what you need for each meal and most of the meals were good. Plus you can keep the recipes and use em later.
I made a fermented hot sauce with ghost, tabasco, and cayenne peppers that I grew and loads of garlic. The perfect amount of heat.
Made this recipe, but added tomatoes and like 300 times the amount of red pepper flakes. It’s delicious…and spicy. Crisp Gnocchi With Brussels Sprouts and Brown Butter Recipe
Went to a Korean spot for dinner last weekend. Braised short ribs, banchan, and zucchini pan-fritter.
I've been staying in Mexico and for breakfast they've had plantains every day and I'm going to miss them. Love plantains. Trader Joe's has them in freezer bags which is great. They are finally opening a trader joes closer to me so I can get my plantain fix. I need all the plantains.
Plantains aren't always as sweet as bananas but they can be. I'm a sweet over savory person so I like mine a lil more ripe. The first time I had them was on a sandwich and I was immediately hooked. Now I typically have them fried or baked in olive oil with a side of black beans Edit: the sandwich had sweet plantains, beans, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on cuban bread. And it was life changing.
