I could eat squid every day for the rest of my life. This time I marinated it with coriander, oregano, paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil and tossed it in a dressing with lime and lemon juice, lime zest, and olive oil. Got the tentacles nice and crispy on the grill.
excellent idea, thank you. hot with butter or cold with mayo? choose carefully might be bummin' it a little too much, but I like the way you're thinking It seems like sandwiches are the common thread here. Maybe a grilled cheese blt lobster roll hybrid with fresh c0rn. I might have to grill some shellfish too, maybe with a compound butter
I'm a hot with butter guy, especially brown butter, and chives on a buttered and griddled split top bun
Ate alot on my trip to Burlington, VT. 2 of my fave things I ate were this crunchwrap from Pingalas and chicken fried scrambled egg sandwich from The Cafe Hot. Both vegan. Both killer.
Damn looks awesome, think Im due for a trip up to Burlington some time soon. Sooooo many great food spots all over that city.
Yeah it looks like fried chicken but the inside is scrambled eggs. The eggs have a batter on it that gives a fried chicken texture. Soo damn good
also had my first taste of classic north shore roast beef at 31yrs old this weekend. I've seriously been missing out. The meat is so damn tender I could eat one of these sandwiches every day. Maybe not the classic "3 way" with mayo, cheese, and bbq sauce every time but if you're anywhere on the coast north of Boston, do yourself a favor and try out one of those "famous roast beef" spots.
I have no idea which answer you wanted but I'm not a coward and stick to my convictions and what I like so... cold with mayo. (I'll eat both but clear favorite for me).
Made some great pasta with friends recently. Was a really simple recipe. 100g of flour + 1 room temp egg per person, just a little olive oil (didn't measure it), and some salt. Hand mixed the pasta by dumping the flour and making the well for the egg and then resting for like 40 minutes before cutting it into smaller pieces and kneading / rolling it out. (Have a pasta roller - metal hand cranked one that clips to the counter and then you roll it through progressively getting thinner). Sauce was just peppercorns, garlic, heavy cream and parmesan. Made the croutons and Caesar salad. Caesar salad was just the classic recipe of lemon juice / egg yolk / Dijon mustard and oil emulsion with a garlic / anchovy paste and parmesan added. Finished with a little Worcestershire sauce. Croutons - cut bread + seasoning of choice + 400 oven till you're happy with the texture (I like them not too crunchy).
As if I didnt’t already think Burlington was cool as hell. Gonna have to go back and get me that sandwich.
