Made this for lunch, a not terribly unhealthy burger rice bowl. Sauce is mayo ketchup and sweet relish
My wife and I do something similar, but we do it without the rice and just call it “hamburger salad.” I usually add croutons made out of Ezekiel bread to mine and it rocks.
one of my coworkers brought in a Dubai chocolate bar and it was good but nothing insane and nothing I’d pay like $20+ for?
Yeah I tried one back in January and enjoyed it, but was kind of underwhelmed. That said, I’m looking to try it again, but I’m planning on getting it from a different place. The place I went to only made them in a very small size and was more chocolate-heavy. All the ones I’ve seen on social media are larger and have more of that pistachio cream filling, so I don’t think I got the “true experience” or whatever
One of the best pasta dishes I've made it in a while. Sausage and rigatoni in a tomato cream sauce. Used a bunch of sage and fennel seeds and just kind of experimented when I had a night to myself Saturday night. Really happy with how it turned out. 100% unhealthy with the cream, but 100% good. I at least stretched it out to 3 servings.
Made some pretty tasty stir fry tonight. Nothing fancy. G Hughes sugar free teriyaki sauce is very good imo Ignore my grimey stove
I don't know where else to post this but vent time: Spent all day yesterday meal prepping and I made my wife a great 'shepherds' pie (turkey instead of lamb) for lunch and that was a resounding success. I roasted a chicken to have some meat to throw in various dishes (like a curry) throughout the week - Success. Took a good amount of the chicken and made a GREAT chicken salad for my lunches, just the way I like it and it was perfect... except I DROPPED THE WHOLE ENTIRE THING ON THE FLOOR and chicken salad went everywhere. Could not salvage it - pets in the apartment and the whole bowl went upside down and spilled everywhere and yea, there's no 5 second rule with something like that. So here I am at lunch time mad as well that I gotta go spend money instead of eating what I made that would have slapped.
This is the worst. This reminds me of the time I was making potato salad for about 60 people. I was mixing it all in a large punch bowl made of glass. Well, apparently I gripped the bowl too hard as I was tossing the salad, because part of the bowl shattered into my hand and the potato salad. Fortunately, my hand was barely cut, but I had to throw out all of the food, rush to the store, and start over again.
Once I was proofing bread in my oven and then forgot it was there, and turned it on to preheat for dinner. In a rush, after remembering it was in there, I not only burned my hand after my towel slipped, but also dropped the entire glass bowl which shattered in my kitchen. I will never own a glass thing in my kitchen bigger than a cup lol.
