My wife made us some ballin’ breakfast sandwiches for lunch today. Went to Costco yesterday for the first time in a hot minute and got a pack of croissants and a pack of thick cut bacon for funsies. Then she made us sandwiches with bacon, scrambled egg, sautéed spinach on a croissant with some mayo and ketchup. This French bakery in my wife’s hometown makes them just like that. It was so fucking good.
Speaking of breakfast sandwich’s, I made these dank biscuit egg sandwich’s. First time using biscuits, usually use croissants or English muffins. I fucking love cooking breakfast
Made a quick pozole verde for the first time this weekend. Never had it or made it. Its great minus my one fuck up of using pumpkin seeds with the shells still on. They did not blend out well so theres woody bits every few bites but its salvageable. Still tastes great but glad I wasn't making this for anyone other than my wife and myself. Could also use some substantial heat so I'll add more/spicier peppers next time around.
Started using the Paprika app to manage recipes and it’s really all I could ever want in an app. Really easy to download recipes from websites (even behind paywalls) and categorize them. You can share recipes easily as well. It also will build grocery lists from recipes for you and following a recipe is a breeze. You can set timers in the app too. It’s like $3 but honestly would really recommend!
I made rosemary bread today and it turned out really good! I’ve never made bread before so I was nervous but it was a really easy recipe. It looks a little wonky but it tastes good so whatever!

No pics so can’t prove it, but had some “Maryland chicken” tonight… chicken breast with lump crab meat stuffing and lobster cream sauce, with rice pilaf and a caesar salad.
I was always against sous vides as i felt they were cheating, but cant deny the results. Cooked and shared a filet and a ribeye that i did in the sous vide at 136 before searing and they were the best steaks ive ever made. Served with a bernaise sauce that i dont have a picture of but it was just a hollandaise with shallots and tarragon.
bobby flay opened up a burger joint here so i tried it out. massive onion rings. burger was decent, couldn't really taste any sauce.
Yumm. I went to one of Bobby Flays restaurants when I went to the Bahamas once and had the greatest filet mignon of my life. I think it had some red peppercorn sauce on it that was amazing
Bobbys crunch burger restaurant chain is great for a flat top fast casual type burger. (And getting it crunch style with the lays chips is a must).
Bobby Flay’s restaurants are excellent. His steakhouse in Atlantic City was amazing. Sadly, the Borgata eliminated all of their best restaurants. I had dinner at Amalfi in Vegas earlier this year and that was probably the best meal of the whole trip, which included Thomas Keller’s Bouchon and Jose Andres’ Jaleo. All three were spectacular though.
Pretty happy with my cookie spread this year! Chocolate toffee chunk, pistachio white chocolate cranberry shortbread, candy cane brownies, and gingerbread cream pies. I used Ina Garten’s brownie recipe minus the walnuts as the base and it might be the easiest and best brownie I’ve ever made.
