I get on fixation meals and lately it's a kale salad with pumpkin seeds and craisins and feta and the traders Joe's vegan Caesar salad dressing and sometimes quinoa if I've planned ahead. Been having one every day. Normally my fixation lunch is essentially a Greek yogurt parfait bar and I'll make different combinations but it tends to be dannon light and fit Greek yogurt mixed with PBfit, cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, chocolate chips, various fruit, chia seeds, granola, etc. not all those things at once but it's what I usually pull from and mix different combos. My fixation dinner has been various combos of different smoothies What is variety??? I don't know her
It’s Wing Week in Portland where a bunch of bars and restaurants have special wings, so some friends and I went on a little wing crawl last night to try a few. Calabrian Chili Crisp wings w/ pickled celery and gorgonzola ranch. Pretty good! I think these were chipotle bbq wings. They were just ok. Spicy Vietnamese lemon pepper wings. These were huge and by far my favorite of the night. Couldn’t get a great pic because it was dark and I’m not about to draw attention to myself and use flash!
Wing crawl round 2 from last night because I’m a glutton. Korean honey butter wings. My favorite of this bunch. I just really like crispy, breaded wings. Kimchi Mac n cheese on the side was just ok. Western wasabi wings. I’m not a fan of wasabi in general but didn’t hate them. Peachy pisco wings. These were pretty good. Was hard to take a good pic because the bar had almost no lights on lol.
It's rare to get the whole wing like that but I always enjoy it. From travelling and eating in China, so much food is wasted in the US in trying to make it look appealing / convenient first. There's a Chinese soup noodle place near me that just chucks some duck breast in a soup, bones and all and it adds so much flavor and extra meat to the experience. Anyway... those top wings look fire.
All of the wings you've posted look good @Joe. I do agree about that mac and cheese though, looks like jazzed up Kraft.
Not something I ever thought I'd make a big deal out of but I started eating mostly white rice for my carb intake so just upgraded our cooker to a Nero Fuzzy from a little crappy 2 cup one I got at target forever ago. Maybe one of the best decisions I've ever made. This thing has so many cool little QOL things about it that most of my other kitchen appliances don't have. Retractable power cord, a carrying handle, utensil holder, cool little song when it finishes cooking. Best part is I can set it up to start when I'm not home and I'll have perfect warm rice ready to go for dinner.
I made stir fry last night for the first time lol. It was so easy and so good! G Hughes sugar-free teriyaki marinade is great btw.
Props to Coca-Cola for making Oreo Coke Zero taste exactly like Oreos, but man, I do not like it. I do not want to drink Oreos.
Anyone have any restaurant recs for a nice birthday dinner in Nashville? Doesn't have to be fancy as long as the food an ambiance are good.
This was on the list, but they're only doing brunch on the day we want to go for dinner and I'll be in a dumb work conference during the day. It looks insane though.
The Catbird Seat, Locust, Rolf & Daughters, Folk, International Market, Margot, and Cafe Roze would all be solid options ranging from moderately priced to a pretty penny.
I liked the flavor profile, and I liked that texture wise it was a crispy big mac. My biggest issue was that mac sauce makes the chicken patty slippery. With the beef patty the sauce kind of melts/soaks in, doesn't do that with chicken. Makes it very messy to eat.
