The pizza steel is the truth. Just got one a few weeks ago and it's been amazing

the baking steel is great as a griddle also--makes the best smash burgers

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

    Underrated cookie imo

I use it on the grill outside so I don't make a splattering mess in the kitchen when making smash burgers.

I've also used it on my stove that turns it into a sort of french top range, with different temperature gradients and can fit more pots/pans than just the burners

I only have a stone so sounds like I need to upgrade.

  6. Gf and I celebrated 2 years together with a tasting menu dinner at this Indonesian fusion place. It was amazing. Feel like posting descriptions of all the dishes would be long winded, so I’ll refrain.

Here's a screenshot from my IG of dinner tonight. If you haven't heard of Baby Blues Luncheonette, they're an American-Greek spot in Brooklyn that does a pretty epic looking meal. Haven't had the pleasure to visit yet but I've been stuck on it since I saw a photo a few months back, so I took a crack at it. Cooking and feeding myself is hard the past few months, but I'm grateful that I still have the ability to do it when I've got the drive to.

Wife and I have our anniversary today but we celebrated on sunday night at this Argentinian steakhouse, Lost Fire. I'll add photos if I remember to ask her for them later, I was living in the moment. They get some exclusive cuts of beef that Don Julio Parrilla use, and they're allegedly the only place in the US that gets these specifically. I got a really incredible cut of rib eye wrapped in bacon (which I don't think was necessary but was still great), typically a bit rich for my blood but hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had, totally worth it. Perfectly medium rare with melt in your mouth rendered fat, and they finish searing the steaks on an open wood flame so there is a great crust on the outside. 100% going back for another special occasion in the future. They have some massive 2" bone in cuts I want to try some day but was not brave enough to go for this time around, fuckers are expensive.

Visited Rochester and had my first garbage plate today--two firsts! I tried out DogTown and got one burger + one hot dog.

Is it my favorite? Not quite. It could've benefited from significantly more hot sauce, which I'd argue was the most flavorful part. I can respect its iconography, but I think I was too sober for this one.
