Listening to Dave on Bill Simmons' podcast, it's so awesome to hear the enthusiasm in his voice when he talks about modern music. You have Green Day trying to talk about "saving rock music" and Dave's out here spruiking Eloise and Billie Eilish.
Oh yeah, I think I got her mixed up with Ariana Grande (IIRC that was who Billie Joe took a weird swipe at). In any case, listening to Dave talk about music is always so cool.
I'm on the fence...On one hand, I haven't seen FF in 15 years and would really like to see them again but on the other hand I haven't been into anything they've done since Wasting Light and don't want to spend $120 on a ticket.
It sounds like they’re just waiting to release it when they can tour again which I understand but am not happy about.
"Wasting Light" is still my favorite album from these guys, but I listened to "The Colour and The Shape" today and damn....It's such an important and legendary album for rock music. Especially in the 90's. I definitely hold it high up there with Nirvana's "Nevermind" and Green Day's "Dookie". The album has aged VERY well too. Its nuts! Anyways, sucks about the new album. At least we know we will get another new one. With that being said I hope its more in line with TC&TS and WL haha. Has Dave or anyone in the band talked about the direction of the album at all?
Second “FF X” sighting in my neck of the woods...Sherman Oaks, CA : Foofighters We're likely getting something on November 13th. Album very soon!!
So basically, a Foo Fighters record. "It's got groove, maaaaaan." Dave cracks me the fuck up. Let's be honest, it's gonna sound like Foo Fighters. I hadn't even heard that the record was "shelved" due to the pandemic, so all of this news hitting me at once is a great thing, I didn't have a chance to be bummed that it was shelved.
* Cloudspotter * Chasing Birds * Holding Poison * Love Dies Young * No Son of Mine * Shame Shame * Making A Fire * Medicine at Midnight * Waiting on a War ^ 30 second clips of all of these songs were posted to the FF subreddit yesterday but got taken down completely also, if you listen to the Pretender on Spotify mobile, it has the coffin teaser as the cover
some of it was, but Dave was definitely right about it being a dance album. they're actually trying something entirely new!
I’m so curious now lol, I’m trying to imagine what Dave making “dance music” would even sound like and honestly can’t
