I think this is what's making me excited about this. As much as Wasting Light was a solid effort, it felt so obviously within the Foos wheelhouse. This feels like it's stepping outside a little and it's refreshing.
Song and video are both great. The video is what I wanted from A Day to Remember's Naivety, but they wasted a video with old man makeup. Random side note, do they think the song Bridge Burning only works as an opener? I don't think they have played it since they quit opening with it, which is a shame because its a great song.
Yesssss. I dug Sonic Highways for what it was, but this is a return to the greatness of Wasting Light. And this video is classic Foo!
No. And I think there's a reason for that. Might be a surprise release. Even this new single/video showed up out of nowhere. They've also played another new song at an acoustic benefit show recently. So, the material exists. And, when asked about a new album, Dave gave a cryptic answer to KROQ about following their Twitter feed.
I actually thought the EP was a nice return to form after Sonic Highways. Stripped down, straightforward rock songs that weren't focused on a big concept. SH has some cool stuff but it didn't feel like a new Foo album to me, just a soundtrack to the series. I'm happy that this new tune seems to be back to basics as well.
You didn't like 'Best Of You', 'The Pretender', 'Rope' or 'Bridge Burning'? Damn! Not that there's anything wrong with that, their just some of my favourite Foo's songs.
Love Wasting Light (my favorite foo's record), love the EP, didn't like Sonic Highways except for the first song, and love this new song, got me hyped for a new album!
Song rocked.... boobies rocked.... It's like Cocoon meets the Foos.... my GOD... it's awesome.... THEY ARE BACK!
