I can appreciate them wanting to go a little punkier and heavier lately, but the recordings aren’t raw enough for me. Feels rather inauthentic at times.
It really felt like “But Here We Are” was an emotional breakthrough for them. Dave was writing more literal stuff and they were toying with song structure and length. Granted, it’s a tough album to revisit. Every song released for this feels like a total regression, which I guess is whatever, they’re a legacy band. It all sounds like first draft material. Sucks they didn’t dig farther into their sound.
Cooked, how? They could sell out Wembley Stadium, Jerry's World, or any stadium in the world if they announced a show right now. Seven people on Chorus.Fm not liking the song doesn't mean shit. Feedback everywhere else has been mostly positive. If that's what it means to be "cooked", every band on the fucking planet would line-up and ask to be.
I wouldn't mind a couple of songs of this type on an album but not an entire record. Expect the poster means creatively cooked. Which is kinda normal after 31 years of output.
It just sounds like a silly thing to say. Cooked because they released a couple songs you don't like? Okay, sure.
I personally wouldn't call a band with this long of a legacy "cooked" based on a few mid singles, especially when their last album was a late-career high-point
very silly posts all around, is a band in their 50s as relevant as they used to be, no obviously not, are there more than like ten bands alive on planet earth bigger than this band that can play bigger venues than them, no obviously not
Convenient that the Twitter Twat trying to "gotcha Dave" ignores this important piece of context out. "Maybe eight years ago...." Social media was such a fucking mistake. Forget going back in time to kill baby Hitler, go back and stop Twitter & Facebook from being invented.
What did I say that was controversial? You a big baby Hitler fan? Or are you one of those people who live online 23 hours a day? Yeah, Cameron. I'm just fine.
Sometimes you go into a random thread for no reason and get rewarded with the weirdest shit. What a forum.
Love to defend a mega-successful dude's raging alcoholism. I really hope he isn't doing the same shit these days, more for his sake than anything else.
fist of all lmao jasto second of all no amount of context makes any of what I read in that article sound any better for Dave given what we now know about him
In the end, if you’re looking for anything beyond snark on Grohl/Foo Fighters, X The Everything App is the wrong place to go.
