One of the very few songs Franz Stahl helped write and recorded guitar for, after Pat first quit and before Shifty joined. Also the first song to feature Taylor on drums.
This is correct and that song rocks. The band was deeply ashamed it was on Godzilla, but cashed a big check for it.
looks like Caught In The Echo is out tomorrow, much better than the title track imo. Dave doesn't have a dumb vocal effect which is an immediate improvement. Even does some of his classic screaming.
Man, that song is another swing and a miss. They're just sounding like a bunch of noise to me now. Hopefully there's at least a couple tracks I'll enjoy.
Taylor is missed in so many ways — not the least of which is that he was the one and only Foo who would challenge Dave creatively. He didn't hesitate to offer his opinion, and that friction likely improved many of their songs and records. Maybe Ilan can become that in due time; he did rewire Tom a little bit on The Dream Walker. But I don't see Nate, Pat or Chris ever rocking the boat at this point, and I think their recent music is lacking because they don't have someone to counter Dave. This wasn't the time to self-produce.
